Meet our Lifestyle Legend: Louise Barry

Stephanie Saba

How long have you been with Lifestyle?

I have been at Lifestyle for about 2 1/2 years.

I started off working as a temp while doing my A levels, and I came in to help with packing the vouchers throughout the Christmas season or on days where I didn’t have school and would just do a half day and pack.

How has your role evolved?

After working as a temp for a while I switched over to the customer service team and they gave me a full-time contract after my degree didn’t go to plan. I was in that role for about a year and a bit when the events team started looking for a new executive. I put my name in for an interview and was really excited to be accepted into that position.

What drew you to events and what are you looking forward to in the role?

I really liked the fact that it wasn't just always in the office. On any day you might need to go out and see venues or help with events and it’s a lot more fun, in my opinion, to be moving around for different clients and types of projects. It was also a great way to learn more about the company and its different departments.

I'm looking forward to helping Tom and Hannah run new events with clients at different venues I've never been to before, hopefully progressing, becoming an events manager or from an event exec.

There’s an event I’m particularly excited about running, where we’ll be in Wales with the client, just doing loads of different activities, so it’ll be a fun way to spend a few days.

What do you like most about working at Lifestyle?

The people, they’re definitely my favourite thing about lifestyle. Everyone’s really nice and gets along like a family and it makes it enjoyable to come into work.

Now the fun question! You have control of the music in the office, what are you playing?

I don't think I've ever had control of the music! Not that I'd want to, I think it'd put me under pressure.

But if I was…it depends, because I don't want to make the office a really down place, but I’d put on a bit of Lana Del Rey.
