Why do I have to wait 24 hours to spend/redeem my life:style Gift Card or Voucher?
There is a delay in allowing registration in order for us to perform anti-fraud and anti-money laundering checks. Unfortunately, since Gift Cards are a store of value, they can sometimes be used by criminals for nefarious purposes.
What is a life:style Gift Card or Voucher?
life:style is a multi-retailer Gift Card or Voucher that comes in various options: Ultimate, Eat, Home, Fashion & Beauty, Thank You, Congrats, Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas. There is also a "for business" solution, to help businesses reward their staff or customers - see the "life:style Voucher - Business Rewards" section of these FAQs for specific characteristics of the business Voucher. All life:style Gift Cards and Vouchers allow recipients to swap and spend the value of their Gift Card with one or more of the listed UK retailers. life:style Gift Cards and Vouchers must be registered online before swapping in to a retailer eGift Card of choice to then go shopping with. Although you need to treat the Gift Card as you would cash, life:style Gift Cards and Vouchers themselves are not a payment method so cannot be used directly in shops.
Can I use my life:style Gift Card or Voucher straight away in shops?
No. You have to register and swap it online first by going to lifestylegiftcards.co.uk, click "Spend" and follow the instructions.
How do I register my life:style Gift Card or Voucher?
Please note there is a 24 hour delay before you can register - this is for anti-fraud and anti-money laundering purposes.
If you have a physical Gift Card or a Print-at-Home Voucher, you should go to lifestylegiftcards.co.uk, click "Spend" and enter the values next to "Reference Number" into the corresponding "Voucher Reference" field on the registration page. If there is a QR code from a mobile device and this will take you to the registration page and enter the reference number for you. If prompted, enter the Security Code listed on the Gift Card or Voucher. If you received an eGift Card via email, click on the link to reveal your gift, enter the PIN number from the email, and then click on the "Swap & Shop" button on the summary page. You will have to enter your email address to create an account or enter the email of an existing life:style account you want the credit added to.
For life:style Gift Cards bought in-store (e.g. Sainsbury's, WH Smiths, Wilko, Co-Op, Asda etc) the reverse of Gift Cards. The Gift Card code is underneath the grey and silver security scratch panel. Rub a coin on the panel to reveal the code. Do not rub or scratch too hard. Illegible, damaged codes cannot be replaced and will render the Gift Card worthless.
I have a life:style Voucher I got from a/my company. What’s the difference between life:style Vouchers and life:style Gift Cards and Vouchers you get in the shops or online?
life:style Gift Cards purchased in shops and online and the life:style Voucher for business rewards are all multi-retailer Gift Cards brought to you by Motivates Inc Ltd (www.motivates.co.uk). life:style Ultimate, Eat, Home, Fashion & Beauty, Thank You, Congrats, Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas are designed for the consumer, hence only available in shops and supermarkets across the UK and from our online store. The life:style Voucher is not available on the high street and is for business customers only. Many businesses use The life:style Voucher to reward/thank general public customers as well as their own staff so there may be a few of you who are lucky enough to get both!

The Motivates team behind life:style are here to help. We are open from Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm, Friday 9am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays).
Where can I view my life:style Gift Card balance?
Log into redeem.lifestylegiftcards.co.uk and you can see your balance in the top right of your screen. You can also view your balance from the My Account link in the navigation menu. You will need to have registered and logged in to access My Account.
Where can I view my past life:style Gift Card redemptions?
Simply log in to My Account on redeem.lifestylegiftcards.co.uk, then select Statement and then Breakdown. Here you will find details of all your previous Gift Cards, remaining balances and their expiry dates.
Can I add money to my account to get more life:style Gift Cards or a higher value retailer eGift Card?
Yes. Please email us on email@example.com with a convenient time and number to call you (during working hours). A member of the team will be more than happy to process a balance top up for you.
I’ve entered an incorrect email whilst registering my life:style Gift Card or Voucher, what shall I do?
Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org quoting your life:style Gift Card code or reference number and the incorrect email address you set the account up with. We will investigate and use all our best endeavours to help and rectify the situation. Unfortunately, if the email address you have originally registered your life:style Gift Card or Voucher to is in use we have no way of stopping the recipient from using your credit. Please note life:style Gift Cards and Vouchers must be treated as cash and cannot be replaced.

Is there a minimum/maximum amount that I can buy a life:style Gift Card or Voucher for?
life:style Gift Cards and Vouchers can be purchased in £5 denominations for any amount from £5 up to £500.
Why is my purchase being declined on your "buy" site?
We partner with a 3rd payment service provider which controls the processing of credit and debit cards. There are many reasons as to why your purchase has been declined, and the error message you received should explain why. How do I view my order history on the "buy" site ?
If you made purchases and checked out as guest, then the only record of your order history will be in the emails sent to you at the time of purchase. If you created an account or signed in when you purchased, you can click on the "My Account" link in the menu of lifestylegiftcards.co.uk and click "Order history" to view all purchases.
Why can't I swap value for the brands I want to?
Some retailers have a minimum value that allow you redeem with them - usually below £20 limits the brands you can swap with. Also if you have an Eat, Home or Fashion & Beauty card or Voucher, then the retailers you can use have been selected based upon the theme of the card.
There’s a specific retailer logo featured on my life:style Gift Card but I can’t find it on the life:style website to swap?
Retailers are subject to change, and subject to availability. Please refer to our full terms and conditions.
Do I have to redeem the full value of my life:style Gift Card or Voucher in one go?
No. If you don’t spend the full value of your life:style Gift Card, any unspent funds will be instantly credited to your account.
Does my life:style Gift Card or Voucher have an expiry date?
Yes, life:style Gift Cards and Vouchers and their associated credit is valid for 18 months from the date of purchase and must be redeemed within this period. Please do check your Gift Card or Voucher for the definitive time as we do sometimes offer different expiry dates.
The website is telling me my life:style Gift Card or Voucher is already registered or invalid, what shall I do?
Please first double-check the details of your life:style Gift Card have been entered correctly. If your Gift Card is still being reported as already registered or invalid go in to My Account on the redeem.lifestylegiftcards.co.uk site and check out the Statement section. You will see your current balance. If you cannot see the Gift Card or Voucher amount on the balance or within the statement, please contact us on email@example.com
Can I register my life:style Gift Card or Voucher and use it at a later time?
Yes, you can register a llfe:style Gift Card or Voucher and use at a later date. The value of your card will sit as a balance on your account to spend how and when you wish. The balance will still expire so please check your Gift Card or Voucher for the expiry date: you must redeem before this elapses.
Can I choose to receive physical and digital Gift Cards from retailers when swapping my life:style Gift Card or Voucher?
No. Depending on the retailer the choice is either a digital eGift Card emailed to you or a physical Gift Card sent in the post. Over 95% of all retailers on life:style provide digital, emailed eGift Cards.
I haven’t yet received the eGift Card from the retailer that I swapped my life:style Gift Card for, what shall I do?
Although 95% of retailer Gift Cards are sent by email, some are posted. If the brand you have swapped for provides eGift Cards, then you will find it in your eWallet in your life:style account on redeem.lifestylegiftcards.co.uk. Please check the retailer’s Important Information section to see how your retailer Gift Card is being sent. Gift Cards sent by post can take up to seven working days, however the exact timings are stated within each retailer’s Important Information section. If it’s sent by email, please ensure to check your email spam/junk folder and the email address registered to your life:style account (see My Details in My Account).

Why am I seeing an “Out of stock, coming soon” alert when choosing a retailer eGift Card?
Occasionally there may be instances of specific values of retailer eGift Card being “Out of stock – coming soon!”. In this situation we recommend using other values to make up the value you require, or to choose one of the other 125+ brands available. When there is a stock shortage it is typically replenished within 2-4 working days.
Can I give my life:style Gift Card or Voucher to someone else?
Yes. So long as you haven’t registered your life:style Gift Card it can be given to someone else or reGifted. Please treat the Gift Card as you would cash.
Once I’ve exchanged my life:style Gift Card or Voucher, can I use retailer eGift Cards in-store and online?
This depends on the type of Gift Card each retailer offer, so read the retailer’s Important Information on the website (once you’ve registered) before you confirm your order. Some can be used online only or in-store only, but many can be used both in-store and online.
Can I change my mind once I’ve swapped my life:style Gift Card towards a retailer’s eGift Card?
No. Once the order has been processed it is not possible to cancel or exchange.
Can I order any value of retailer eGift Card?
No. Retailers all offer different values of eGift Card and we aim to provide as much choice from their available options.
After I’ve swapped my life:style Gift Card how long is the actual retailer eGift Card valid for?
Each retailer’s validity and expiry policies are different. Motivates are not liable for lost or stolen retailer Gift Cards or eGift Cards or dealing with enquiries relating to lost or stolen Gift Cards or eGift Cards. You must contact the retailer direct. Sometimes Gift Cards/eGift Cards are delivered to an incorrect postal or email address. How do I track my order from the online "buy" site?
If you ordered a physical Gift Card, and chose first class post, tracking is not available. Please allow five working days (includes Saturday) for your order to arrive. If you chose delivery via courier, then online tracking is not yet available: please allow 2 working days for the package to arrive. Digital orders are delivered via email to the recipient's email address you specified at the time of purchase, you can check your "Order summary" PDF to confirm the email address is correct. Print-at-Home Vouchers are delivered to the email address you entered at the time of purchase: it should arrive in less than a minute after the order is completed. I would like to cancel my order, what are my rights?
You have the right to cancel your life:style order within 14 days of receiving your life:style Gift Card(s), under the distance selling laws of the UK and receive a full refund of any monies paid. If you have Activated/Swapped your Gift Card for a retailer specific eGift Card within these 14 days it will be taken that you have agreed to waive this right. Please consult the Terms of Sale, link in the footer of the website, for more information.
What happens if my life:style Gift Card or Voucher gets lost/stolen?
If you have not registered your life:style Gift Card or Voucher: As the Gift Card is not personal or registered it’s as good as cash so cannot be replaced when lost or stolen. If you have written down your Gift Card code, or have an order refence number from our "buy" site, please get in contact with us as soon as possible so we can block your card. If you do not have any details then we will not be able assist.
